Poultry Availability

I raise poultry as a fun hobby, but also strive to raise high quality birds whether for exhibition, pets, or for your own breeding program.
I hatch for myself mainly, and usually only part with chicks or older birds after I've kept what I need for my own personal breeding goals and enjoyment.
I have not shown them, but many of my foundation birds came from breeders who do show. I can not and will guarantee show quality though, I don't feel any breeder should. Who knows what will come out of every egg, or how a chick will grow out?
I love to see some of them go to 4-H kids!

Thanks for your interest!

*Facebook: due to Facebook's (ridiculous) rules regarding animal sales, anything listed there, will be offered for "adoption," instead of for sale.

Here's just a general idea only on prices. Increases are possible depending on rising costs of feed and other essentials.
Varies by quality, and availability:

Large Fowl Black Mottled Cochins

Sadly, I'm not raising any Cochins at this time. I lost my last and main rooster just recently (so sad!), and I only have a couple of older girls left who haven't laid in quite some time. They are pets and will remain with me to live out their lives. If something changes, I will update this section and post about the changes. Thank you for your interest...

Silkies

This is just a general starting point, only.

My main breeding group consists of Paint, white, Frizzle white from Paint, Paint from Black and paint, and boldly marked Paint. I may have a black Naked neck showgirl rooster in the mix as well
You may hatch Blue, Partridge, White, Paint, or Black chicks. Naked Necks, and Frizzled Silkies are possibilities.
I have no satins at this time.

Please keep in mind the added time and cost invested in growing Silkies out until they can be sexed, which is often 4+ mo.s!

Payment

If paying online, I use PayPal, also accepted for local pickup, or cash, no personal checks.
Due to past bad experiences, I can not hold birds unless paid for. I will hold for three days only.
Some people make things harder for all of the rest of us, unfortunately!

Shipping - NO SHIPPING AT THIS TIME

! Disregard the info below at this time. Unless the USPS gets their issues lined out, I won't be shipping. Delays, damage and their refusal to reimburse when the three day express window isn't fulfilled, leaves me no choice.
Chicks and adults are suffering due to their negligence when handling live animals.

Since I am a hobbiest, not a hatchery, I can not replace birds as they are insured to do. If  harm or loss occurs during shipping, or birds are delivered late, insurance claims can be filed with the USPS under most circumstances. I'm fairly certain that they will only offer refunds if they take longer than specified to arrive, 72 hours, or if there's sufficient evidence to show that the P.O. is at fault.

*No longer offering shipped day old chicks. Most chicks are grown out, and if very young chicks are available, they're local pickup only.

Shipping live animals is a risk, and shipping prices have went up drastically over the past year, so please understand and agree to assume the risk before inquiring about shipped birds or eggs. Buying shipped hatching eggs is also a big gamble, one I've taken many times myself in order to have rare breeds. Sometimes it went well, sometimes it was a complete loss!
I will collect fertile eggs for up to three days, then ship. Eggs stay viable for up to 14 days and I keep them that long sometimes when I hatch, but shipping is hard on eggs, so three days is the longest I'll hold them, then ship.
I will ship eggs on Monday, Tuesday or Saturday.

States I can ship to:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Alaska,  Colorado, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Minnesota, Montana, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Wyoming, California, Florida, Michigan, Oregon, and South Carolina.

More States may be added soon!

I will only ship if temps are safe on both ends of the journey. Usually between 35°-80°, generally October through May.

As a general idea, shipping cost for two juveniles will likely start at approximately $130.00, plus the cost of the birds.
I'd have to calculate shipping according to your address, and there is a $15.00 box replacement fee.
Shipping only within the U.S., some states excluded due to individual regulations.
